Do you want to email or call Representative Williams about a certain issue he will be voting on but you’re not sure what to say? As bills come to the floor, we will provide you with a script to help you lobby Rep. Williams! It is important to our democracy that our representatives know how we feel about issues important to us, and that we hold them accountable in their representation. Script for Gun Safety Bills, 2023 legislative cycle:

I am emailing to ask Rep Williams to support HB1018 (Extreme Risk Protection), HB714 (Background checks), HB338 (Lost and Stolen Reporting), and HB731 (Secure storage). Data has shown that these bill can save lives. One-in-five American adults have had a family member killed by a gun. And this is simply one too many. Not only has it taken the life of someone, it has forever changed and traumatized those still living.  From the Pew Research Center: In 2021, 54% of all gun-related deaths in the U.S. were suicides (26,328), while 43% were murders (20,958), according to the CDC. The remaining gun deaths that year were accidental (549), involved law enforcement (537) or had undetermined circumstances (458). There doesn't need to be this much death. Please consider supporting these bills- you could save someone's life.
